Passionate about conservation? Interested in working outside with the United States Forest Service? Take the next step with the Conservation Internship Program from Walking Mountains Science Center! 🌿
Conservation Internship Highlights:

Work alongside field scientists and career professionals from the White River National Forest and Walking Mountains on a daily basis.

Develop skills in field biology survey techniques, natural resource conservation, trails and land management, and interpretation/education while exploring a variety of careers and opportunities within the natural resource field.

Depending on your skills, career goals, and educational experience, interns will be placed in one of the following positions: Aquatics and Fisheries, Wildlife Management, Timber Crew, Trails and Wilderness, or Dispersed Recreation Crew.
Qualifications:

Age 18-25 with a desire to pursue further education in the natural resource field or an environmentally related career

Be able to work outside and keep a positive attitude in all types of weather

Able to hike and carry equipment up to 50 lbs for 5-20 miles

Professional and accountable individual who takes ownership and pride in their work, curious and self-motivated, willing to learn, and open to giving and receiving feedback
Compensation and Benefits:

$350 weekly stipend with housing
-
$500 weekly stipend without housing (For local Eagle County residents)

Gear Stipends and Field Perdiem Rates

Possible College Credit with Colorado Mountain College (up to 6 credits)
