Jefferson County is looking for an experienced accounting technician to work with our Open Space Division. This person should be a proactive thinker with experience and a strong knowledge base in accounting. We are looking for someone who is mission oriented, highly organized, a team player, and someone who is not afraid of taking a leadership role. The ideal candidate will be well versed in accounting, financial reporting systems (Workday), time-keeping system (Kronos) Microsoft office (Excel and Word), and keeps up with the latest accounting best practices, trends and technology.
Performs technical accounting functions including processing accounts payable and receivable transactions. Acts as liaison to vendors and County employees by responding to inquiries regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable. Coordinates with Treasurer’s office for cash receipts and deposits. Maintains current signature authority files. Verify employee timesheets and approvals within time-keeping software (Kronos). Coordinate and process procurement card statements and stipends. Act as a staff resource for time accounting, purchasing and receiving payments.
