The Public Lands Transportation Fellows (PLTF) program is now accepting applications for it’s 2020 class.
The PLTF program provides fellowships to recent graduates (sometimes current Masters students) in a transportation related engineering, planning, or resource management program a unique opportunity for career development and public service. Successful applicants are placed at a federal land unit facing a transportation issue to facilitate a transportation planning or implementation project.
We are currently seeking applications for a total of five (5) transportation fellows. Two (2) at US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) locations and three (3) National Park Service (NPS) locations. Locations include: Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Lacombe, LA; Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Sudbury, MA; and three (3) positions that will rotate through the National Park Service (NPS) Headquarters office, a NPS regional office (exact location TBD), and a NPS unit (exact location TBD).
The transportation fellows position spans from July 13, 2020 to July 9, 2021. Compensation includes $3,000 per month for 12 months, benefits, relocation expenses, housing allowance, and potential for Federal Non-Competitive Eligibility Status.
Please note that job offers will be made contingent on funding appropriations and applicant qualifications. Applicants to the transportation fellows program must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent resident aliens of the U.S.; be 30 years of age or under by the start date; and have at least a Bachelor’s degree; however, the preference is for recent or soon-to-be Master’s degree graduates.
