Good afternoon!Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hiring a Statewide Public Information Officer, working as part of the Branding and Communications Section, headquartered in Denver.
This statewide role serves to develop and manage content for agency-related information and events internally and externally and determines what information is suited for distribution, determining the appropriate venues based upon CPW’s strategic communication plan and Colorado State Statute. This position decides the appropriate audience and develops key messages for distribution based on analysis of current public opinion on wildlife-related issues and outdoor recreation opportunities and executes via the appropriate tactics by audience and budget.
The statewide PIO works closely with the section manager and all branches of the division, (i.e. CPW Leadership Team, Regional Managers, Regional Public Information Officers, etc.) as well as outside CPW partners, stakeholders and recreationists to identify, monitor and determine issues to be communicated, which are integral to the sustainment of conservation, parks, outdoor recreation, stewardship and wildlife management. This position builds cultures and engages the outdoor community by developing and executing strategic communication plans for CPW’s overall conservation mission.
