This two part virtual workshop is designed to equip educators and natural resource professionals with essential trauma informed strategies to enhance your work with diverse populations. Whether you’re working in classrooms, community programs, or environmental initiatives, this training provides practical tools for fostering trauma resilience. Through a blend of expert insights and hands-on activities, participants are invited to:

  • Engage with the concept of trauma and its effects on learning, behavior, and engagement.
  • Explore trauma-informed principles and how they can be integrated into educational practices.
  • Practice modifying lesson plans with a trauma-informed approach.

Associate Director of the Oregon Natural Resources Education Program, Oregon State University Extension
Yasmeen has been combining her experience in the mental health field with her background in environmental science for over 20 years, serving as an executive director, trauma practitioner, program manager, educator, and teacher trainer throughout the US and internationally. She is passionate about tending not only to our ecosystems and natural resources but also the people who steward them. Yasmeen earned a PhD from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
