Howdy COSA Community!
The animals at Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance love eating Siberian elm (and lots of other tree and shrub species). Our elephants love playing with massive tree trunks as well!
We have a new browse program where we will come help your arborists and open space employees remove non chemically treated tree species and take the limbs and trunks back to the zoo for our animals to eat and play with. Please see the flier for more specific information. Feel free to hang up the fliers in your team’s offices as a reminder.
This program will help Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance reduce our carbon footprint, provide our animals with fresh, nutritious food, and help you all get rid of plant material.
When we transport invasives like Siberian elm we will wrap all plant material in tarps to prevent the spread of seeds and twigs.
If you are interested in participating, please reach out to our browse coordinator Quinn Voeglie at QVoeglie or 720-765-0105.
Thanks!
