Nature’s Rx: Engaging Learners Outdoors for Mental Wellness
When: July 30th 9am-3pm Registration closes July 23rd
Where: CSU Spur, Denver
Cost: $25 includes all materials and lunch. Scholarships and travel stipends are available
This workshop is for anyone interested in exploring how trees benefit mental health, especially educators looking for actionable ideas to share with their students. We’ll dive into the science behind why trees are so good for us, and you’ll get to participate in hands-on activities that you can immediately take back to your programming.
You’ll also find excellent opportunities to network and form collaborations with other passionate professionals. We’ll help you create an action plan to promote outdoor learning and share valuable tips for teaching outside, including Project Learning Tree activities that foster social-emotional learning.

Roots of Resilience: Trauma Informed Tools for Education and Outreach

This two part virtual workshop is designed to equip educators and natural resource professionals with essential trauma informed strategies to enhance your work with diverse populations. Whether you’re working in classrooms, community programs, or environmental initiatives, this training provides practical tools for fostering trauma resilience. Through a blend of expert insights and hands-on activities, participants are invited to:
Engage with the concept of trauma and its effects on learning, behavior, and engagement.
Explore trauma-informed principles and how they can be integrated into educational practices.
Practice modifying lesson plans with a trauma-informed approach.
If you’re new to trauma-informed approaches or seeking to deepen your practice, this workshop will support your ongoing efforts to create inclusive, supportive spaces for learning not only for students but educators as well.
