Are you passionate about the outdoors, natural resource protection, and inspiring others? The City of Aurora is excited to announce an opening for an experienced and qualified professional to join our team as a Park Ranger Supervisor! The primary duty location and focus of this position is leadership in Open Space, Trails, and Urban Parks, however knowledge of reservoir operations and boating is strongly recommended. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and includes excellent benefits.
The City of Aurora’s Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department oversees more than 8,000 acres of open space, 100+ developed parks, over 100 miles of trails, and two water supply reservoirs—Aurora and Quincy. Our park rangers play a critical role in ensuring these spaces remain safe, clean, and accessible for all who visit.
As a Park Ranger Supervisor, you’ll lead a dedicated team in delivering exceptional public service, focusing on public safety, rule enforcement, natural resource stewardship, and interpretive outreach. You will also assist in the hiring, management, and coordination of both full-time and seasonal staff, including Park Rangers, Aquatic Nuisance Species Inspectors, and Lifeguards.
