Hello COSA colleagues,
The City of Longmont’s Ecosystem Management Division is pleased to announce the 2025–2026 Funded Research Program, which supports applied research, monitoring, and resource inventory projects that advance understanding and management of Longmont’s natural areas.
We’re seeking proposals from high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, faculty, agency scientists, and independent researchers. Projects conducted on City of Longmont lands are prioritized, but we also encourage interagency and cross-jurisdictional collaborations that address regional conservation and restoration challenges.
Funding details:
- Typical awards: $1,000–$5,000 (up to $10,000 possible)
- Eligible topics include: vegetation and habitat restoration, wildlife and pollinator ecology, watershed science, climate adaptation, ethnobotany, visitor use impacts, and related fields.
- Combining this funding with other small grants or in-kind support is encouraged.
A list of priority research topics and full program guidelines are available at https://longmontcolorado.gov/parks-and-natural-resources/open-space/ecosystem-management-funded-research-program/
