The Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and visionary Director of Development to lead our philanthropic efforts. This role is pivotal in driving our 2025 Strategic Vision by cultivating deep relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and institutional foundations. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define multi-year fundraising priorities and create an annual Development Plan aligned with CDTC’s mission.
- Major Giving: Directly manage a portfolio of 75-80 major donors, leveraging systems to move them through the fundraising cycle.
- Team Management: Supervise the development team (including the Grant Writing Manager and Development Coordinator) and foster a culture of ethical and equitable fundraising.
- Partnership Development: Oversee corporate giving, strategic partnerships, and top-tier foundation relationships.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the NeonOne CRM database and manage program-specific budgets to ensure financial accountability.
- Collaboration: Work with the Communications Team to develop strategies that strengthen CDTC’s visibility and public trust.
What You Bring:
- Experience: At least 7 years in relationship management, with 5+ years in non-profit development and 3+ years in a leadership/supervisory role.
- Skills: Proven success in major gift solicitation, critical thinking, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in CRM systems (NeonOne preferred), Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools like Monday.com.
- Values: A strong commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) and ethical philanthropic practices.
- Preferred: A CFRE credential and a genuine interest in the issues facing the Rocky Mountain West and shared stewardship of public lands.
Work Environment & Compensation:
- Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Benefits: Comprehensive package including $450/month toward health insurance, 403(b) retirement contributions, 29 days of PTO, and 14-16 paid holidays.
- Location: Hybrid role based out of our offices in Golden, CO; Santa Fe, NM; or Helena, MT. Remote work may be considered with a requirement for regular in-office presence.
- Travel: Occasional travel across the CDT for donor cultivation and signature events like CDT Trail Days.
