South Platte Park is offering our traditional spring CIG course slightly later than usual this year, with it running March 17 through 20. Participants spend 4 days learning communication strategies to create and deliver interpretive guiding experiences to audiences, and if successful walk away with the credential of Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation.
Part of the later timing for this year is to take advantage of potential spring breaks for high school and college-aged staff and volunteers. We know they don’t all align, but in particular we are scheduling so that members of our Sheridan Inspire Generation Wild Community can consider sending teen and young adult guides this year. At least one other GenWild Coalition is sending staff. This credential is available to ages 16 and older, and compared to the past, it is much more accessible to youth with the elimination of the intensive literature review. Feel free to reach out with questions. Registration is through NAI:
