As part of the Jefferson County Open Space team, the Budget & Finance Supervisor is responsible for all activities related to financial planning and analysis including preparation of the annual department budget, quarterly financial analysis, budget monitoring, budget amendment process, and five-year financial plan. This position coordinates financial projections, purchasing, accounting, reports, and technical and personnel operations for the division. This individual provides guidance and supervisory support while training and reviewing technical work for budget and finance support staff.
The ideal candidate is a financial professional who fully understands the principles and practices of governmental finance, accounting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning. This person must be innovative, detail oriented, and collaborative and comfortable working with staff of all levels to able to represent the division in a variety of internal and external meetings and provide individual budgetary and financial guidance while ensuring protocols are adhered to. The candidate must also have the proven ability to move between diverse tasks with ease, and must thrive in a deadline-driven, professional environment.
