Salary Hiring Range: $90,000-$105,000
The Vice President of Conservation will arrive at a time of remarkable growth and opportunity within the organization. Guided by the bold and ambitious goals of its new strategic plan,Land for Life, the organization is relentlessly focused on the urgency of conservation and the need for immediate action. Combined with fiscal strength and a drive for innovation, Palmer is projected to grow 40% over the next 3 years to achieve its priority land and water conservation outcomes.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Conservation should possess the vision, knowledge, and leadership skills necessary to serve two crucial functions: 1) join the executive leadership team of the organization and work collaboratively to manage the organization as a whole; and, 2) guide and successfully implement Palmer’s strategic conservation priorities of Land for People, Land for Food, Land for Nature, and Water for Life. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and program builder who is deeply committed to Palmer’s mission. The incumbent will be able to assume the role of “player-coach” with regards to Palmer’s overall slate of conservation initiatives, assuming ownership over a portfolio of projects while also leaning on demonstrable managerial experience and talent to effectively lead a team of five to seven conservation professionals, including three to four director and/or manager level reports, and a wide variety of partner organizations and service providers.
