COSA Submit your Stewardship Project and Training Needs for 2026

VOC is now accepting project applications and training applications for our 2026 season! Below are all of the relevant details and links to get started.
Partner with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)
Each year, VOC partners with land managers, agencies, and community groups to complete 100+ priority trail and restoration projects across Colorado. By applying, you’re expressing interest in hosting a 2026 project where VOC handles volunteer management, logistics, and coordination.
Timeline
While we accept applications on a rolling basis, we ask that you submit your application by October 15 to allow ample time for selection, scouting, and recruitment.
If you’re interested but unsure whether you’ll meet the deadline, please still let us know by October 15 so we can put a placeholder in for you.

What Can VOC Volunteers Do?
Our volunteers can support a wide range of projects, including:

  • Trail building and maintenance;
  • Recreational infrastructure improvements;
  • Park accessibility improvements;
  • Habitat restoration such as noxious weed management and fence removal;
  • Planting and erosion control tasks;
  • Wildfire mitigation and flood restoration;
  • Deployment of chainsaw and crosscut crews;
  • Urban greening and addressing environmental or human health in urban areas;
  • Planting, maintaining, and harvesting urban food gardens or establishing new pollinator gardens;
  • Community science data collection, and more.

Training Opportunities
These affordable, in-depth courses in outdoor leadership and stewardship skills are offered through VOC’s Outdoor Stewardship Institute to help individuals and organizations improve their stewardship skills and prepare for various leadership roles.
