The Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP) and Jeffco Parks and Open Space (JSPOS) are pleased to announce a 1 1/2 day Visitor Use Management Foundations Training in Golden! The training will take place from 8-5 on Tuesday, February 10 (lunch included) and 8-12 on Wednesday, February 11. Registration is $500 for SORP members and $650 for not-yet-SORP members. We have a number of agency and organizational memberships so please reach out if you are unsure of your membership status!
The VUM Foundations Training is designed for engagement and real-world application. Participants built a strong foundation in the Visitor Use Management Framework, explore how VUM supports sustainable recreation in diverse contexts, and apply planning steps and decision-making tools to realistic scenarios. Small-group discussions and case-based exercises encourage collaboration across organizations and disciplines, helping professionals translate concepts into action.
