COSA Tour of Front Range 2013 Flood Restorations, July 10-11

The High Altitude Revegetation (HAR) Summer Field Tour is coming up on July 10th and 11th, 2018. The 2-day field tour will visit several restoration sites along the northern Colorado Front Range affected by the 2013 floods. As you are aware, the floods created unique sites and challenges for restoration. The Field Tour will visit sites not open to the public to highlight the diversity of modern stream and river restoration approaches. Online registration is required to ensure your seat on a bus.

We will also discuss approaches, success, and challenges to riparian restoration in these systems with Emergency Watershed Protection leadership and technical assistance team personnel at an evening Pub Talk. Whether or not you are able to join us for the Field Tour, we hope to see you at the Oskar Blues Oak Room in Longmont from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM on July 10 for this Pub Talk hosted by the Central Rockies chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration (CeRSER). Admission is free and registration is not required for the Pub Talk. Appetizers provided by CeRSER, cash bar will be available.

Due to fragile condition and/or limited accessibility of sites, field visits will be limited to 100 participants and all tour participants must ride on buses provided. There will not be any exceptions.

· Register for this FREE event to reserve your seat on a bus: https://goo.gl/forms/jzEcVoxr9Z3n3AOm2. We encourage your prompt registration, as space is limited and seats are filling quickly.

· Each day, buses will be departing from and returning to the South Parking Lot at the Boulder County Fairgrounds (Longmont, CO). Please arrive by 8 AM to begin boarding the buses and use restroom facilities before coming to board the buses.

· Since the tours are full day trips, HAR will provide box lunches. You are welcome to indicate dietary restrictions on the registration form or bring your own sack lunch.

· Please bring your own water (reusable bottle, please), snacks, insect repellant, and sunscreen. Boots with ankle support are highly recommended.
