The General Technical Report, Principles and Practices for the Restoration of Ponderosa Pine and Dry Mixed-Conifer Forests of the Colorado Front Range (RMRS-GTR-373) was published earlier this year. We invite you to join the GTR’s authors and other practitioners and scientists for an interactive field workshop to explore and expand your familiarity with the planning, implementation, and monitoring concepts presented in GTR-373. We expect participation from federal, state, and local agencies and interests, providing an opportunity for networking and discussions of landscape scale cross-boundary forest management.
Front Range land managers and scientists agree on the need for restoration of ponderosa pine and dry mixed-conifer forests. Until now, much of the information guiding this restoration has come from other areas of the western U.S. GTR-373 provides managers with place-based restoration solutions that incorporate local, Front Range science processes. Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge to implement locally appropriate strategies for forest management on the Front Range.
There will be two full-day field workshops with 50 spots on each –
Northern Front Range (departing from Fort Collins) on Wednesday, September 12, 2018
Southern Front Range (departing from Morrison) on Wednesday, September 26, 2018
