The City of Fort Collins is gathering information on how other agencies regulate electric-transportation devices (bikes, scooters, skateboards) on their trail systems. Our City will be piloting a program next year to allow e-bikes on our paved trails. City policy currently prohibits e-scooters and e-skateboards on our trail system. We would be appreciative of your jurisdiction’s practices and policies regarding the following questions:
- What is your organization’s existing policy regarding e-bikes/scooters/skateboards on trails?
- Do your policies differ between paved and unpaved trails?
- How does your organization enforce the policy? Any issues? Any solutions?
- Do you regulate speed limits for these types of transportation devices on trails?
