COSA Ranger Unitt Memorial

Dear Cosa members,

I am writing to let you know about the memorial service and procession that will be held for Ranger Brendan Unitt. Ranger Unitt died while responding to distress call on Horsetooth Reservoir last Thursday during a high wind event.

The family of Ranger Unitt will be holding a private memorial service at an undisclosed location in Larimer County on Friday, August 28, 2020. Law Enforcement Agencies, Fire Departments, and EMS Personnel who wish to show their support and honor Ranger Unitt, his agency, and his family, are asked to participate in an Honor Procession of emergency services vehicles.

The honor procession staging location is the parking lot of Timberline Church, located at 2908 S.Timberline Rd. in Fort Collins, Colorado. Staging will occur beginning at 1030 AM. All personnel and vehicles need to be parked and staged no later than 1215 PM on 082820.
The procession will begin when the family arrives at the church parking lot. The route of the procession will be as follows:

From Timberline Church, the procession will leave the north entrance of the church and onto Timberline Rd. The procession will travel north on Timberline Rd. to Drake Rd., then turn east on Drake Rd. The procession will continue on Drake Rd. east to Ziegler Rd., then south on Ziegler to Harmony Rd. The procession will continue from Harmony Rd. east across Interstate 25, to Weld County Rd. 13. The procession will then turn south on Weld County Rd. 13 and travel to the location of the service (6301 Weld County Rd. 13-Also known as County line Rd. and Latham Parkway). Prior to arriving at the location of the service, the procession will stop and allow family members to arrive.. Once the family has arrived and are in place, the procession will continue in a slow roll past the venue to honor and support the family. Once the procession passes the venue, the official procession will end and agency members may then be dismissed. When leaving the area, please continue south to Weld County Rd. 68 1/2, then turn east as the road to the west is closed due to construction.
