COSA Standley Lake Regional Park & Wildlife Refuge is Hiring!

Greetings COSA Community!

We are excited to announce the seasonal positions for the 2021 are now open and accepting applications!

We have 13 openings for Seasonal Park Ranger: The Seasonal Park Ranger position is responsible for park regulation enforcement work, routine park maintenance, park projects, park patrol, water patrol, interpretation and visitor safety at Standley Lake Regional Park and Wildlife Refuge. Seasonal Park Rangers also assist with paddle craft rental transactions, gatehouse functions and campground operations. Recreation staff have the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of program participants and promoting stewardship efforts.

We have 6 openings for Park Ranger Trainee: The Park Ranger Trainee position is an entry-level Parks position responsible for entrance station operation, paddle craft rental transactions, paddle craft decontaminations and assisting boat crew at Standley Lake Regional Park & Wildlife Refuge. This position is ideal for candidates considering a career as a Park Ranger or Nature Interpreter, but may not yet be qualified for such positions.

We also have 1 opening for a Park Naturalist (Program Coordinator II): The Program Coordinator II– Standley Lake Seasonal Park Naturalist position is responsible for facilitating park interpretive and environmental education programs for children ranging from kindergarten to middle school for the Junior Ranger Academy program funded by the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Inspire grant. Westy POWER-PODER, whose name stands for "Promoting the Outdoors through Wellness, Education & Recreation" (POWER) and "Promoviendo Oportunidades de Educación Recreativas" (PODER), a GOCO Generation Wild coalition in Westminster, connects families and youth with nature to promote nature, wellness and literacy to under-served populations. This position develops and presents culturally relevant information to children on the park’s natural resources and history. Bilingual in Spanish and English in required for this position.
