Boulder County Parks & Open Space provides funding available through our annual Small Grants Research Program, for research and biological inventories on open space lands. These research projects and provide valuable data to inventory our lands, monitor management practices, advance our ability to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change, and improve resources and park visitor experiences. Preference is given to proposals that address priority research topics, but all proposals will be considered based upon their merit.
The maximum award amount is $10,000. The proposal deadline is Monday, January 9, 2023.
Further detail about priority research topics, grant guidelines, and staff contacts can be found here: https://bouldercounty.gov/open-space/education/research/
You are encouraged to contact the appropriate staff person to discuss potential ideas and proposals prior to submission.
For research that crosses the boundaries of Boulder County Parks and Open Space and our neighbors (City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks, Jefferson County Open Space, and the City of Longmont), we will also consider interagency grant proposals, which may provide for joint funding and a potentially larger award. Interagency proposals should follow the requirements found under Item 10 of the following link: https://bouldercolorado.gov/services/osmp-funded-research-program
