| 17-0219 TEMPORARY NATURAL RESOURCES GROUNDS MAINTENANCE TECH, NATURAL RESOURCES DIV: $14 – $18/HR. Must be at least 18 years of age. Schedule varied, but typically 7:30 am to 4:00 pm M-F, up to 40 hrs/week from March/April to September/October and 30 hrs/week from October to March. Valid Colorado Driver’s License required. Ability to obtain Colorado Dept. of Agriculture pesticide applicators license required. |

| DEFINITION: Temporary natural resources grounds maintenance technician works under the general supervision of Land Program Administrator, Natural Resources Specialist, and Natural Resources Technician. Duties include a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to equipment operation and maintenance of open spaces, greenways, and district parks. The major emphasis for this position is vegetation management including weed control and native vegetation restoration.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: The City is recruiting for temporary staff to support natural resources management operations. This position will assist with weed control including the mixing and applying of herbicides, mowing, weed whipping, digging and clipping. Other duties include restoration and maintenance of native vegetation by seeding, planting, and watering, utilizing GPS and mapping software to monitor vegetation and wildlife, operating various equipment including tractors, ATVs, herbicide application equipment, pumps, power and hand tools, trucks, and trailers, assisting with wildlife management including prairie dog control, and working with various natural resource volunteers. |
