South Platte Park has opened registration for our next Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) Training class at South Platte Park in Littleton, March 5-8. Successful students will receive nationally-recognized certification in interpretation and resource communication. If you have been considering this course for your incoming seasonals, front-line staff, extraordinary volunteers, new hires, or old hands, now is the time to register!

Our spring classes have filled since 2007 with the last spaces sold-out weeks in advance. The South Platte Park course is the last one currently on the calendar in Colorado through August at this time. The fee of $380 is standardized by the National Association for Interpretation. If you are aware that we offer this course twice a year but were thinking of waiting for our usual November course, be aware it may be specifically youth-focused in 2019. While our traditional classes attract a mix of new interpreters, career changers, and experienced guides and rangers, we are working on gearing a special fall class to teens and those with limited workplace experience to better mentor their skills and learning style. Keep this in mind for any of your teen docents, youth council members, or grant coalitions!
