Do any of you have tips for identifying Foxtail Barley (Hordeum jubatum) prior to seed formation? I’m hoping the leaf structure has some unique characteristics.
We are trying to identify the focus area for Foxtail Barely mitigation efforts, while the grasses are just coming up.
We need a way to distinguish between the Foxtail Barley and the Bottlebrush Squirretaill (Elymus elymoides) in the area. So if you have ideas about unique leaf structure characteristics of Elymus elymoides, we would appreciate those suggestions as well.
