This training is intended for Parks Ambassadors, Rangers and any other professionals that interact with homeless individuals in the field. For this reason, we wanted to share with all of you.

Do you struggle with enforcing the rules for homeless, mentally ill and
addicted individuals?
This interactive training will teach you why homeless individuals do what they do and the practical tools for resolving problems. After the training, you will have more confidence interacting with individuals experiencing homelessness.
This day of in-person training will be presented by Ryan Dowd, Executive Director of Hesed House, a homeless shelter outside of Chicago, Illinois. He trains organizations around the country and the world on how to work with difficult homeless individuals using the same tools that homeless shelters employ.
We hope you can join us to learn why individuals engage in the behavior they do, when to use punishment and when to use empathy to get compliance, and how to effectively deescalate conflict situations. |
