COSA Support the development of the City of Boulder’s Plague Management Plan

Good morning COSA listserv. This is being sent on behalf of Val Matheson, Urban Wildlife Coordinator for the City of Boulder.

Support the development of the City of Boulder’s Plague Management Plan by providing information about prairie dog colony management on your land system by Sept 21.

The City of Boulder is currently developing a Plague Management Plan for prairie dog colonies on City property. City of Boulder staff are seeking information about how plague is mitigated on other land systems. We could use your help by better understanding prairie dog colony management objectives, plague mitigation tools employed, and experiences from other land managers.

If you have information about plague mitigation in black-tailed prairie dog colonies, please fill out this 8-question survey by Sept 21: https://forms.office.com/g/KQ5aEBZBDq

If you would rather provide information on the phone, over coffee, or if you have any questions, please contact:

If you would like more information about the development of the City of Boulder’s Plague Management Plan, please visit our project page: https://bouldercolorado.gov/services/prairie-dog-conservation-and-management.

Note: This plan will not address plague as it relates to human risk and treatment. The scope of this plan is natural areas management by the City of Boulder where prairie dogs exist.

Thank you in advance for your help,
