City of Longmont Parks & Natural Resources is hiring a temporary Watershed Forestry Technician position to support forest stewardship operations in the city’s watershed at Button Rock Preserve outside Lyons, CO. This unique, multi-disciplinary position will assist in contract oversight on 200+ acres of forest health projects and engage in forestry field work including marking, felling, skidding, and chipping trees. In addition to forestry, this position will support a wide range of natural resource management projects including volunteer and Youth Corps projects, wildlife monitoring, and ecological restoration. The position may also support wildland fire or emergency response within a candidate’s level of training.
The Watershed Forestry Technician position will work a variable weekday schedule of 10-hour shifts. Some weekend or holiday shifts may be required. Hiring range is $26.81 – $29.79/hour. Seasonal employment is limited to 1560 hours with the possibility of reduced hours in the winter months.
