I’m reaching out to you hoping you might be willing to help me spread the word about the application period for VOC’s Cairn Program, an award-winning high school program for students interested in stewarding Colorado’s natural resources. Applications for both high school students and adult mentors are now open online, and they will each close on August 31st, 2023. I’ve included a sample informational blurb about the program below that you are welcome to copy and paste to your networks. Please also feel free to distribute the attached flyer to any of your audiences or contacts.

I wanted to let you know about an upcoming opportunity for high school students and young adults who are interested in participating in Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)’s Cairn Program. VOC is the state’s oldest outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization, and their mission is to motivate and enable people to become active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources.
The Cairn Program is an award-winning high school program that guides and challenges students to become caretakers of Colorado’s natural resources. VOC is currently accepting both high school student and adult mentor applications now through August 31, 2023 (click here to apply). Founded in 2008, the Cairn Program engages 20-25 students throughout the school year in monthly outdoor activities and stewardship projects across the Front Range.
