The City of Steamboat Springs is pleased to announce a job opening in our Parks Division as a Water Conservation and Irrigation Specialist! Put your talents and skills to work to contribute to our vibrant community!

As a member of the Parks and Recreation Department, the Water Conservation and Irrigation Specialist will develop a water conservation program and oversee a team of technicians to optimize the departments irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water management and healthy city landscapes. The specialist will lead and supervise staff in performing semi-skilled and skilled tasks operating a variety of equipment in all phases of construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of the City’s water irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in irrigation design principles, installation, and maintenance practices, and have a passion for water conservation strategies and sustainable landscape development through well rounded cultural practices.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Parks Supervisor.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervises contractors, subcontractors, Parks Maintenance Technicians, Parks Workers, assigned community service workers, volunteers and temporary employees as required in the maintenance and installation of irrigation systems, implementation of cultural practices, and development of water conservation programs.
