Job Description:

This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the field workgroups within the Trails and Natural Lands (TNL) team. Trails and Natural Lands is a division in the Public Lands Department.

The successful candidate will work with TNL Field Staff and Natural Lands Supervisor to create property assignments, create management plans and safety protocols for each open space property, and carry-out scheduled and as-needed maintenance tasks (weed control, trail repair, native planting, land restoration, signage and fencing installation and repair, etc.) Similarly with the native plants and ecology team, the Operations Manager will create and oversee implementation of management and safety plans for native plant greenhouses and land restoration projects. Additionally, this position will support the Natural Lands Supervisor with all human resource functions (recruiting, hiring, supervising, training, evaluation) for the TNL field staff.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Public or Business Administration or a related field and five years of related work experience and three years of proven leadership and supervisor experience. Education and work experience may be substituted one for the other on a year-for-year basis.
