Join our Human Dimensions team at the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks as a Crew Member for 2023. As part of our team, you’ll get to collect a wide range of recreation and social science data to help us better understand how visitors use our open spaces. From talking to visitors and conducting surveys to setting up and maintaining automated equipment, you’ll learn all the latest techniques for social science research on open space lands.

      Note: This position involves primarily fieldwork (70-90% of your time), it is not eligible for remote work

Employer Benefits: This is a temporary position and is eligible for health benefits immediately on the position start date as long as the position length is 6+ months. If the position will be less than 6 months (summer job) the position will not include benefits.

Hiring Range: $18.30 – $22.40 Job Description Summary: The Human Dimensions Crew Member supports the Human Dimensions team in monitoring visitor use and researching social science topics on the Open Space and Mountain Parks system. The Human Dimensions team employs a wide range of data collection methods, including administration of on-site and off-site surveys, conducting field-based observations, and collecting visitation counts through the deployment of automated counting equipment, including trail counters, vehicle counters, and field cameras. As a Human Dimensions Crew Member, your primary responsibility (70-90% of your time) is to carry out the fieldwork and data collection tasks, including data collection, data entry and QA/QC, and equipment maintenance and calibrations.
