Please see the attached vacancy for an Arborist Technician I/II with the City of Longmont Forestry Services.
The City of Longmont Forestry Services has one vacancy for an arborist technician that will be hired at either the Arborist Technician I or Arborist Technician II level, based on experience and qualifications. I encourage anyone that is interested in urban forestry to apply, regardless of experience. The Arborist Technician I is an entry level position, with not experience required. The candidate will be trained from the ground level on arboriculture and safety practices in all sorts of forestry equipment. The City of Longmont is well equipped with a new chip truck, chipper, and grapple truck, and aerial lift truck with an elevator that goes to 75’, a skid steer, various tractors, and plenty of other equipment to get the job done safely. Staff perform the whole spectrum of tree care from, growing trees in our tree nursery, to planting, pruning, and tree removal. The arborist technician series is built to develop new hires with little to no experience, and work their way up to a Senior Arborist, that creates the weekly crew schedules, trains newer staff, and manages contract tree work for the City of Longmont. Hiring Range: Arborist Tech I: $20.44 – $22.71/hour
Arborist Tech II: $25.56 – $28.40/hour
