Finance and Operations Director – The Finance and Operations Director (FOD) is a critical member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for the management of all internal financial functions, over $2 million in assets, and duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the organization and its programs. This position supervises all accounting and resource management functions of the organization including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and benefit administration, budgeting, forecasting, technology, office management, and resource and vehicle fleet management. The FOD is also responsible for organizing, coordinating, and maintaining organizational assets, policies, and procedures, and ensures efficient and organized administration of all documents, licenses, finances, and other functions requisite to the operations of a nonprofit organization.
Program Manager – The Program Manager provides leadership and management of Rocky Mountain Field Institute’s (RMFI) field-based projects, working in coordination with the Program Director (PD) and other PMs to implement RMFI’s mission of conserving and protecting public lands in southern Colorado. The PM turns plans into action by taking long-range project concepts and plans from the PD and converting them to resourced near-term plans, which field crews then turn into action.
Trail Crew Leader – The Trail Crew Leader (TCL) provides leadership to 4-8 crew members while executing and overseeing trail work, environmental restoration, education, and volunteer field programs. Primary duties include implementing and managing single and multi-day field projects; instructing crew members, interns, volunteers, and youth conservation corps members in trail and restoration techniques; overseeing tool, equipment, and food logistics; supporting the upkeep of RMFI’s warehouse and vehicles; maintaining project work and photo logs; and other duties as assigned.
Trail Crew Technician – The Trail Crew Technician (TCT) works under the supervision of the RMFI Program Managers and in close coordination with the RMFI Trail Crew Leaders (TCT). The TCT serves as the primary on-the-ground workforce, implementing RMFI’s trail, restoration, and education field programs. The TCT spends the duration of their workday performing rigorous physical labor in an outdoor setting utilizing a variety of hand and power tools.
