Greetings COSA Community,
The CU Center for Sustainable Landscapes and Communities (CSLC), the City of Boulder’s Fire Department – Wildfire Program and our county partners welcome the City of Boulder and County residents to join us to learn about home wildfire preparation. We appreciate any support in passing along the following information about this free event to your relevant networks!
Event Description: Want to learn more about what you can do to help yourselves and your community reduce your wildfire risk? Learn from local city of Boulder homeowners and City and County fire professionals on the best ways to prepare and mitigate for wildfires. We will discuss strategies for your homes, move to your backyards, and give tips for motivating and working with your neighbors. Also, find out about local resources and tools to improve home safety, develop family preparedness and build neighborhood relations, such as touring a local wildland-urban interface neighborhood.
Workshop Format: All together in one Zoom room, participants will get a brief overview of the basics of home wildfire preparedness & will hear local residents’ own strategies. Then participants will be invited to join either a City of Boulder or Boulder County Zoom room for a facilitated dialogue and Q&A session with City and County wildfire professionals and residents. Our goal is to allow participants to learn from other organizations and each other about what so many people are preparing for and why.

I recognize that the University of Colorado-Boulder sits upon land within the territories of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho peoples. Further, I acknowledge that 48contemporary tribal nations are historically tied to the lands that make up the state of Colorado.
