About RFOV
Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV) is the non-profit stewardship organization that cares for trails and open spaces from Colorado’s Independence Pass to the banks of the Colorado River. Across three project domains – Sustainable Recreation, Healthy Landscapes, and Fire Adaptation – RFOV’s trained staff and community volunteers contributed more than 8,000 hours of stewardship to public lands in 2021!
Our region is notable for the beauty and variety of its landscapes, significant recreational infrastructure, and tight-knit community. Several mountains above 14,000 ft, gold medal fishing rivers, and hundreds of miles of hiking/biking/equestrian trails stretch across our four county service area. RFOV regularly works with 90 different government and non-profit partners, including 18 land management agencies at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels.
The team at Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers is enthusiastic about people and place. We expect applications to be the same. RFOV also recognizes the difficulty of housing in mountain communities and is working with partners to address housing needs for seasonal positions.
