COSA Bird Conservancy hiring Habitat Coordinator – Fort Collins, CO

Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is hiring a dynamic, outgoing and highly motivated Habitat Coordinator to bolster and compliment our Stewardship team. The Stewardship team works collaboratively with state and federal partners to implement on-the-ground conservation on privately owned, agricultural land. The Habitat Coordinator, based in our Fort Collins, CO office will remotely co-supervise 4-5 biologists stationed in the eastern plains of Colorado and New Mexico, who focus on restoring and managing habitat to benefit rangeland health, grassland birds and other species of concern. The Habitat Coordinator will provide mentoring and coaching to the biologists, build relationships with partners, help secure long-term funding for the program, provide expertise on grassland bird habitat needs and management actions, and serve as a member of the Stewardship leadership team. Qualified applicants will be passionate and knowledgeable about the resource concerns, human dynamics, avian communities and habitat interventions in the southern plains grasslands biome, and should be a solutions-oriented thinker ready to navigate the challenges and opportunities of implementing conservation with partners in rural agricultural communities. Qualified applicants will have a demonstrated ability to manage a diverse staff of field biologists, and an understanding of both the Farm Bill and Natural Resources Conservation Service.
