Southwest Conservation Corps operates conservation service programs that engage youth, young adults and veterans on our local public lands. We are expanding our team with permanent staff positions as well as seasonal staff and AmeriCorps positions for 2022! Please see below for some general information about each position. Permanent Staff Positions

Los Valles Program Coordinator (Full Position Description HERE)

Starting Salary: Grade B, $17.10 – $20.67, DOE

Location: Salida Colorado

Benefit Eligible: Health, Vision, Dental, Long-Term Disability, Retirement, Paid Time Off per Personnel Policies

Southwest Conservation Corps Los Valles is located on Southern Ute land, in Salida Colorado. The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to: foster a healthy and inclusive culture within SCC LV Adult Programs, recruit and hire corps members for all adult camping crews including affinity, non-affinity, and Veterans Fire Corps crews; participate in planning and execution of crew leader and member trainings; coordinate communication between the field and the office in addition to supporting and mentoring all field staff, (including seasonal Field Supervisors and Crew Leaders); ensure crews are both supported and prepared to maintain safety, program integrity, and quality projects in the field.

Four Corners Program Coordinator (Full Position Description HERE)

The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to: Recruit and select corps members and crew leaders for all Adult and Veterans Fire Corps crews; Participate in the planning and execution of crew leader and member trainings; Coordinate communication between the field and the office; Support and mentor all field staff, including seasonal field supervisors, crew leaders and members; Ensure crews are both supported and prepared to maintain safety, program integrity, and quality projects in the field. Both office and field operations are required by this position and a flexible schedule is a must! The Adult Programs Coordinator reports to the Adult Programs Manager

Seasonal, Full Time Staff Positions

Four Corners Adult Field and Logistics Supervisor (Full Position Description HERE)

Starting Salary: $735 – $785/week

Location: SCC Four Corners Durango, CO Office

Term: March 1st, 2022-November 18th, 2022

This is a great opportunity to continue field exposure, while also developing in administrative skills, programmatic operations, and logistics. The Field Supervisor’s primary roles are to provide field and logistical support to our field staff and seasonal conservation crews, saw crews and Veterans crews by offering technical assistance, morale support, and ensuring program integrity through policy enforcement and positive mentoring. The Field Supervisor will assist with, program logistics, and planning and facilitating staff trainings. Field Supervisors will support both adult, Veteran, and youth crews. Field time during training season is 100%. Field/office time will vary depending on seasonal and programmatic needs but will usually be close to 50% or more of this positions’ time.

Los Valles Adult Field Supervisor (Full Position Description HERE)

Location: Salida, CO

Wages: $735-785/week

Start/end date: March 14, 2022 – November 4, 2022

The Field Supervisor’s primary role is to provide field and administrative support for the Adult, Opportunity Youth, and Veteran’s programs by offering technical assistance, morale support, and ensuring program integrity through policy enforcement and positive mentoring. The Field Supervisor will assist with Corps member interviewing and selection, program logistics, and planning and facilitating staff trainings. During the spring season, the field supervisor will be both in the field, supporting crew leader training, and in local schools helping to recruit and support adult members. During the field season, the field supervisor will primarily be in the field supporting crews, ensuring leaders and members successfully complete requisite certifications, and meeting with project partners.

Four Corners Youth Field Supervisor (Full Position Description HERE)

Starting Salary: $735 – $785/week

Location: SCC Four Corners Durango, CO Office

Term: March 1st, 2022-November 18th, 2022

The Youth Field Supervisor’s primary roles are to provide field and logistical support to our field staff and seasonal youth conservation crews by offering technical assistance, morale support, and ensuring program integrity through policy enforcement and positive mentoring. The Youth Field Supervisor will assist with, program logistics, and planning and facilitating staff trainings. The Youth Field Supervisors will support both youth programing in the spring and summer season and transition to supporting adult programing in the fall. Field time during training season is 100%. Field/office time will vary depending on seasonal and programmatic needs but will usually be close to 50% or more of this positions’ time. This is a great opportunity to continue field exposure, while also developing in administrative skills, programmatic operations, and logistics.
