COSA Now Hiring: Human Dimensions Research Technician – City of Boulder Op en Space and Mountain Parks

The City of Boulder Human Dimensions Team is looking to hire a Human Dimensions Research Technician to join our team for the summer and fall of 2022! As a Research Technician with Open Space and Mountain Parks, you will be part of a dynamic team that is at the forefront of advancing data-driven decision-making on public lands through the application of social science research. Specifically, the Human Dimensions Research Technician is responsible for carrying out data collection in the field (70-90% of your time) using a variety of data collection methods. Duties may include collecting visitation counts using automated trail counter equipment, administering surveys to open space visitors, and assessing parking dynamics through a variety of direct observation and technological methods.

Preferred candidates will have a mix of educational and applied experience with social science data collection on public lands, particularly in the realm of recreation and visitation monitoring and research. This will be approximately a 7 to 9-month position, with a target start date of May 16th. It will be a full-time (40 hours per week) position and will include medical benefits (benefits start at beginning of employment). This position will fall under the "Temporary (30 – 40 hour)" category. The pay range is $18.32 – $22.40 hourly, based on experience and qualifications.
