COSA Looking for Partner Organizations: High School Summer Program

Cal-Wood is looking for organizations to partner with for our Forests and Fire Field Research Experience this summer for high schoolers. This is a grant funded program ($800 value) for low income and/or minority youth in grades 9th-12th that are curious about science and research.

We are looking for partner organizations to help us fill these camps. If you work with this demographic and would like to run a camp with us, we’d love to hear from you! Or if you have a camper who would be a good fit, please contact us at stephanie

Here is more information about the camp:
Cutting edge science plus down to earth fun! In this 5-day field research experience, teens will learn about the forest 🌳 in and around the Cal-Wood Fire area. 🔥 Through interactions with scientists doing research on the property, they will explore topics such as fire ecology, forest fire mitigation and forest restoration. Teens will also participate in hiking, archery, orienteering, fishing, tree climbing and one night of tent camping. Top it off with campfires, stargazing and vibing with new friends!

Session 1: June 19-23 ($50 fee)
Session 2: June 26-30 ($50 fee)
