Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) Department, Water Group of the Agricultural Resources Division, is seeking to hire an Agricultural Water Specialist. The Ag Water Specialist will lead the coordination and operations of Boulder County’s agricultural water rights and is also responsible for technical water rights work, implementation of programs, project coordination and oversight for both agricultural and environmental uses, and other facets of water rights management.
The Agricultural Resources Division of BCPOS provides for the stewardship of over 13,000 acres of irrigated cropland through partnerships with 65 agricultural tenants. In addition to managing agricultural water, the Ag Water Specialist will serve as a representative on interdepartmental teams with projects including flood restoration, fish passage, capital improvements, and water management planning.
New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month.
This is a full-time, benefited position. This is a hybrid position with scheduled work hours Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and is based at BCPOS Headquarters located at 5201 St. Vrain Rd. Longmont, Colorado.
