I am assisting with the search for my successor. Genesee Foundation is looking to fill the Open Space Manager role. This is a full-time, on-site position dedicated to stewarding 1,200 acres of forested open space in a high wildfire risk WUI community. This position operates with a strong emphasis on forest management, wildfire mitigation, trails, noxious weed management, and ecosystem health; along with conveying the importance of these topics to community members. This position supervises 2 full-time and 3–4 seasonal staff and includes program planning, community outreach, grant and contract administration, GIS, equipment operation, and staff/volunteer management. Salary is $85,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience, with medical, dental, vision, PTO, sick time, and a 5% company SEP retirement match after one year.
