COSA Opportunity to Host YLAI Fellow

Good afternoon,

I wanted to pass along a great fellowship opportunity with a program called Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI), in hopes that your organization might be able to consider hosting a fellow at no cost* this spring.

Please see more information below, or send along any questions/requests for more information to Sofia Marino (SMarino)

Are you interested in participating in the U.S. Department of State’s flagship entrepreneurship program, called Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI)? YLAI is a prestigious fellowship structured as a yearly international exchange program for 280 leading entrepreneurs from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. The YLAI Fellowship is part of the U.S. Department of State’s diplomatic mission to foster business relationships between the United States and the rest of the Western Hemisphere.

One of the 14 entrepreneurs that will be in Denver this summer is the Co-Founder of Vagamundos and Trepamundos, a Mexican social venture providing experiences in outdoors locations that funnels a part of its income into environmental campaigns. Among other things, she is hoping to learn about how U.S. organizations develop environmental initiatives and contribute to their campaigns. Would you like to professionally host her? Please see more information about this Fellow via video biography here: Mariana Valtierra

*This is a fully funded opportunity to partner with this mid-career entrepreneur in-person for one month to share expertise, expand each other’s networks, and lay the foundation for a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership. It is a free opportunity, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding from the United States government, administered by IREX. IREX will arrange and cover YLAI Fellows’ visas, accommodation, travel, and living expenses for the program’s duration. Please reach out if you would like to learn more!
